Researching Your Family Health History
Paula is an RN with a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration. She is a health care professional with 35 years of experience in the field. She is also a member of a large, close-knit family. She is pursuing her lifelong interest in families, family histories, writing and travel by frequent trips to Europe to research her roots. She is a past board member of the South Bay Genealogical Society.
Her interest in health care, genetics, biology and family histories led her to the development of a book entitled Your Family Health History: This workbook makes it easy for genealogists and non-genealogists to collect and document their own family health history. She believes that every-day people should gather their family health history and that genealogists are among the best gatherers and organizers of this important information.

Passenger List Research
Elaine is a specialist in materials and techniques in research of naturalization records and passenger lists from the colonial era onward. She has served at the Los Angeles Family History Center since 1992 as a teacher, supervisor, assistant to the director of passenger lists and head of the naturalization record project. She has been an instructor of basic genealogy and an instructional materials developer at UCLA Extension, California State University at Northridge, and Los Angeles City College. Elaine currently lectures and conducts seminars and workshops throughout California. At the conference you will be able to purchase her books, How To Find Naturalization Records and How To Find Passenger Lists. She will begin work on two series of instructive DVDs in 2006.

She is a graduate of Brigham Young University with degrees in sociology and family history/genealogy and currently works in Content Acquisition for Ancestry.com, part of MyFamily.com Inc. She also serves on the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) membership committee and is renewal secretary of the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGEN). She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in European History at Brigham Young University.
