POINT National Conference - 2004 Cancelled

It is with the greatest of disappointment that we must announce that the POINT National Conference, scheduled for October, 2004, in Kansas City, MO, has been cancelled.

The Conference Organizing Committee was required to make a substantial deposit to the hotel on July 1, and to do that, they had established a minimum number of registrants that would be needed by that date to assure that the conference would not incur financial losses, and that number was not met.

While we all felt confident that the number of registrants would eventually be more than necessary to meet all financial obligations, the members of the committee were not prepared to take that risk, and that is certainly understandable.

We thank the committee for all the hard work they did over the past two years.

Diane De Marco (#1371), who is heading the POINT National Conference - 2006 Organizing Committee, scheduled for Los Angeles in October, 2006, has assured us that this sad news will not affect the plans of her committee to stage a magnificent conference.

We also want to thank those who agreed to speak at the conference and want them to know how sorry we are that this has happened. We hope that all - or most - of them will be able to appear at a future POINT National Conference.

Finally, we want to thank those who registered for the conference for their support and we apologize for any inconvenience the cancellation may have caused. Those who registered for the conference will receive full refunds, and we hope we will see you all in Los Angeles in 2006.
